Big sliding dovetail. |
I saw this bench in the lobby of the hotel I am currently staying at, and thought it was cool. I like the simplicity and the scale of it. I'm not sure what the wood is--either something very dense or it is resin-impregnated. This kind of inspires me to try the joint out on a large scale so it will be easy to fine-tune (coarse-tune?).

Another view of the bench. The shadowline in the middle is the dovetail. |
